The Research and Development Scholarship Track is one of the principal pathways of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program. It is designed to develop qualified Saudi researchers in fields aligned with the Kingdom’s national research priorities.
The track enables eligible applicants to pursue doctoral studies at leading international universities and educational institutions. It aims to strengthen their scientific and research capabilities and prepare them to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s research, development, and innovation ecosystem.
The programme also supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by developing globally qualified researchers, transferring advanced knowledge and technologies to the Kingdom, and strengthening the role of scientific research in sustainable economic and social development.
The Research and Development Track of the Saudi Scholarship Program focuses on providing Saudi students with opportunities to pursue PhD degrees at leading international institutions approved by the programme.
It includes priority research disciplines selected to support Saudi Arabia’s future needs in science, technology, innovation, and other strategic fields.
The track supports full-time, in-person study, allowing scholarship students to participate directly in advanced academic and research environments, collaborate with international researchers, and access laboratories and specialist research centres.
The track aims to:
