The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Scholarship Program is a national initiative designed for outstanding Emirati students who aspire to build successful careers in diplomacy, international relations, and foreign policy.
The programme enables eligible students to pursue a bachelor’s degree at leading international universities in academic fields aligned with the future needs of UAE diplomacy. It aims to develop qualified national talent capable of representing the UAE, supporting its foreign policy, and strengthening its presence and influence on the global stage.
The MoFA Scholarship Program provides academically outstanding UAE nationals with opportunities to study abroad at approved universities, countries, and academic programmes selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The programme focuses on preparing future Emirati diplomats with strong academic knowledge, leadership skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to communicate, negotiate, and create a positive impact within the international community.
The scholarship journey extends beyond undergraduate education. It offers an integrated academic and professional pathway that begins with studying at a leading international university, continues through specialised postgraduate training at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, and concludes with employment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and appointment to the UAE diplomatic corps upon fulfilling the required conditions.

Students accepted into the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Scholarship Program progress through three main stages:
Studying abroad and completing a bachelor’s degree at an approved university.
Joining the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and completing a specialised postgraduate diploma in UAE diplomacy and international relations.
Joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and being appointed to the diplomatic corps after fulfilling the programme’s graduation and employment requirements.
The programme is intended for UAE nationals who meet the required academic and admission standards. General requirements include obtaining the required high-school results, demonstrating English-language proficiency, securing admission to an approved university, and successfully completing the programme’s interviews and assessments.
Applicants must also agree to work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the diplomatic corps for the required period and join the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy after completing their undergraduate studies.
